What it does
ScanPapyrus scans documents and books to PDF or DjVu. It provides timed batch scanning, automatic spread splitting, and scan-quality processing.
Set the delay between scans, turn each book page during the pause and let spread splitting create separate reading pages. Apply crop or contrast adjustments to a group, then save PDF or DjVu. Unregistered export, printing and OCR are restricted to ten pages, and PDF exports carry watermarks. A paid key has no time limit, but Home is for personal/family use; organisations need the commercial licence. Text recognition uses a separate cloud OCR account and internet connection, with provider allowances beyond the scanning licence.
Strengths
- Combines timed scanning with automatic two-page-spread splitting.
Watch out for
- Unregistered output has ten-page restrictions and PDF watermarks.
- OCR uses a separate online provider account; Home licences prohibit business or organisational use.
Best for
- Digitizing books with a flatbed scanner
