What it does
SearchApi supplies search-result APIs for Google and other engines and platforms. Its Google documentation covers query, geography, language, device, filtering and pagination settings for use in custom collection and reporting tools.
SearchApi supplies search results to custom tools through configurable APIs. For Google collection, set the query, location, language and device consistently. The ordinary Google endpoint returns ten results per page; its separate rank-tracking route serves deeper position research.
Signup is available with email and password, Google or GitHub. The initial 100 free requests need no payment card. Paid access is a monthly subscription:
| Plan | Searches per month |
|---|---|
| Developer | 10,000 |
| Production | 35,000 |
| BigData | 100,000 |
Hourly use is limited to 20% of the plan's monthly allowance. That matters for a scheduled job: having enough searches for the month does not permit sending all of them in one hour. Only successful requests count toward usage.
Strengths
- Documents detailed geographic, language and filtering behavior.
- Provides separate search and deeper rank-tracking data routes.
Watch out for
- The ordinary Google search endpoint returns a fixed small page of results.
- Hourly rate capacity is restricted separately from monthly search volume.
Best for
- SEO developers collecting comparable search results for custom reports
