What it does

SearchLock offers a search engine and browser extensions that can set it as the default or redirect searches from other engines. Its policy distinguishes unlinked query records from personally identifiable search histories.

SearchLock’s extension variants do different things. Default Search changes the browser’s engine, while the documented OG/SearchLock+ behavior can intercept a search on another engine and route it to SearchLock. Choose the behavior deliberately rather than assuming every extension edition has the same controls.

The policy does not say that no query data exists. It says search terms are logged without personal identifiers, and advertising partners receive terms, IP addresses and user-agent information for contextual ads and fraud prevention. That is materially more specific than a blanket no-logs claim. Searches opened on destination websites remain subject to those sites’ policies.

The policy names a browser exception: SearchLock OG for Safari cannot prevent the default search provider from seeing the search input because of Safari API limitations. Its Firefox OG behavior also sets SearchLock as the default engine. The policy’s edition and browser distinctions matter when choosing which extension to install.
