What it does
SecuX sells crypto hardware wallets, including the touchscreen V20 and fingerprint-enabled Shield BIO. The companion software and connection methods differ by model. Hardware is a one-time purchase, with blockchain and optional service costs separate.
Pick the SecuX model before choosing its companion interface. V20 and W20 work with the desktop SecuXess web interface and mobile apps. W10 uses the desktop interface, while Nifty, Neo and Shield BIO use the mobile route in the current connection guide.
The V20 costs US$99 on the official store and has a 2.8-inch touchscreen, USB-C and Bluetooth. Shield BIO costs US$149 and combines a fingerprint reader with a small electronic-paper screen, Bluetooth and a charging dock. Taxes, import charges and shipping need to be checked for the delivery destination.
For a new V20, charge the device, power it on and choose Get Started. Set and confirm its four- to eight-digit PIN, then add a device name. Choose Yes, New Wallet, record the 24 recovery words shown in groups, and complete the word-confirmation questions. These words restore the wallet after a device reset; the PIN alone does not.
In the mobile app, the Wallet icon leads to + Add Wallet. Choose Connect hardware wallet for a signer or Watch a wallet for a viewing account. A watch-only entry is useful for checking a balance but cannot authorize spending.
SecuX says it adds no processing charge to ordinary sending or receiving; the relevant blockchain still charges its network fee. Buying and swapping through other providers can have their own prices. The V20 resets after five incorrect PIN entries, making the offline recovery backup essential.
Strengths
- The V20 shows transaction details on its own touchscreen
- The mobile app can monitor an address without importing a spending key
Watch out for
- Desktop and mobile support varies among SecuX models
- Five wrong V20 PIN entries trigger a reset
Best for
- People comparing a desktop-compatible signer with a mobile-only card device
- Wallet owners who want a separate device screen for transaction review
