What it does

Selfwealth by Syfe combines Australian and US share trading with managed investment portfolios. Trade leaves security selection to the customer; Grow uses an investment team to build and rebalance portfolios. Auto-Invest provides a recurring purchase route for selected shares and ETFs.

The first choice is who maintains the portfolio. Selfwealth Trade lets you select shares and ETFs, while Grow provides managed portfolios. These have different charging structures and different levels of day-to-day involvement.

For recurring purchases, open a security’s detail page and tap the Auto-Invest banner. Choose an amount and a weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule, then review and confirm it. The accompanying calculator separates contributions from assumed growth; its future value changes with the return assumption and is not a promised account balance.

Australian trades cost A$9.50 each. The US brokerage promotion runs through 31 October 2026, after which the published standard fee is US$9.50 per trade. Managed-portfolio fees depend on the product and total Selfwealth balance, which combines brokerage, managed investments and cash. For example, the Income+ management rate ranges from 0.45% annually at the lowest balance band to 0.25% at the highest. Currency conversion and underlying product costs need separate attention.

Applicants must be Australian tax residents. Choose Join Now, register an email and password, and enter the emailed verification code. Select the account type carefully before submitting: it cannot then be changed within that application. Prepare the relevant personal or entity details and a withdrawal bank account in the same name.

  • Recurring purchases support weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedules
  • Combines brokerage, managed investments and cash when determining managed-fee bands

Watch out for

  • Only Australian tax residents can open or maintain a trading account
  • A flat dealing fee forms a larger percentage of a small order

Best for

  • Australian tax residents comparing self-directed and managed investing
  • Investors setting recurring purchases of selected shares or ETFs
