What it does
Send It Secure by Protected Trust adds protected messaging to existing email accounts. It stores encrypted messages and uses the sender’s normal address to deliver notifications to recipients.
Send It Secure leaves the existing email provider in place. Encrypted messages reside on the service, while email notifications lead recipients into a portal-backed exchange. An Outlook add-in and web portal provide sender access.
Recipient authentication can use a shared secret, phone verification or registration. The site separates access expiration from short- and long-term retention plans, so decide how long a recipient may open a message separately from how long the organization keeps it. The current name replaces Protected Trust Email Encryption; that older brand is the same product.
