What it does
Sensor Tower provides market intelligence on app performance, advertising, audiences and web engagement. Its datasets support competitor, category and cross-platform research, using modeled observations rather than a complete census of digital behavior.
Sensor Tower researches app, advertising and web markets using modeled observations. It combines proprietary panels, first-party information and public sources; the resulting estimates do not cover every person's behavior.
For teams bringing market data into their own reporting, Sensor Tower Connect offers daily API updates and Scheduled Data Feeds. The feeds deliver CSV or Parquet files to cloud storage and can include historical data. Snowflake delivery is another option. Alerts can follow apps, publishers or categories and send changes such as download spikes or review declines to email or Slack.
Commercial scope and fees are agreed in an order form. Each authorized user needs an individual account. The contract also governs external disclosure, so a subscription intended for internal research may need different permissions for client-facing reports.
Strengths
- Supports research across app, advertising and web behavior.
- Publishes the broad sources and modeled nature of its data.
Watch out for
- Market measures are estimates from incomplete behavioral coverage.
- External sharing depends on the permissions in the commercial arrangement.
Best for
- Market analysts comparing digital competitors and category trends
