What it does
Shopify combines an online store builder with checkout, inventory, orders and sales channels. Merchants can choose a theme, connect apps and sell in person through its point-of-sale tools. A Shopify account is required, and full online-store access uses a paid plan after the trial.
Shopify brings the storefront, inventory and orders into the same merchant administration. A brand selling online and at events can use that shared setup while choosing the theme, apps and channels that suit its products.
Prepare a product before publishing
Create a Shopify account with the business location, then open Products > Add product. Enter the title and product details and save. Open the saved product and select Preview to inspect its storefront presentation.
Product status and channel availability are separate choices. Draft keeps work out of the active catalogue; Unlisted leaves a product reachable by its direct URL. In the product's Publishing section, use the adjustment control to select the sales channels, then choose Done and Save. An event-only item, for example, need not be offered through every online channel.
Plans and operating costs
The following standard rates are for Ireland. Annual billing is paid upfront; prices and payment options vary by business country.
| Store plan | EUR/month, monthly billing | EUR/month, annual billing | Additional staff accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 32 | 24 | None |
| Grow | 92 | 69 | 5 |
| Advanced | 384 | 289 | 15 |
Plus adds unlimited staff and full checkout customization. Third-party payment-provider fees, card processing, apps and optional POS Pro can add costs. Marketplace synchronization includes 50 orders monthly; additional synced orders incur a 1% charge capped at USD 99 per month.
The standard store trial lasts three days without a card. If no paid plan is selected when it ends, the store pauses. Paid apps can still add charges during evaluation. Shopify's separate Agentic offer has no monthly platform charge for AI-channel selling, but charges on sales; it is a different offer from a full online store.
