What it does
Shotcut is a free open-source video editor with multi-format timelines, dockable panels and device-capture features.
Shotcut can put different resolutions and frame rates in one project without a preliminary import conversion. Its panel layout exposes properties, filters, history and encoding jobs. The official device section also describes capture and external monitoring options, which should be checked against the hardware you actually own.
Strengths
- A timeline can combine multiple formats and frame rates.
- Dockable panels expose media and export controls.
