What it does
Shudder specialises in horror, thrillers and supernatural films and series, including originals and cult cinema.
Genre focus is Shudder's main attraction: the catalogue is built around horror and suspense rather than treating them as a small part of a general television service. Its current US plans include Premium and a lower-cost advertising-supported option.
Those plans also change how you watch. The US plan with ads excludes downloads and Xbox support. Premium offers downloads for eligible titles, while live and some on-demand material can still carry ads, promotions or sponsorship. Shudder's supported markets are the US and its territories, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Watch out for
- The US advertising plan has no downloads and is not supported on Xbox.
- Service availability is restricted to named markets.
