What it does

Shutterstock licenses stock photos, vectors, footage and editorial assets. You can buy an image pack for occasional work or choose a subscription for regular downloads. Image-download plans cover the full image library, while unlimited plans use their own included collections.

Free weekly files

Shutterstock offers a free image and vector each week under its Standard licence, with no purchase required. The wider catalogue uses paid plans and packs.

Choosing an image plan

The displayed euro prices are for annual billing and may have taxes added.

Option Displayed price Main distinction
10 image downloads a month €18 a month, billed €216 yearly Full image library, Standard licence
Unlimited Images €19 a month, billed €228 yearly Included image collection and 50 AI credits monthly
Unlimited Plus €49 a month, billed €588 yearly Included images, video, music and sound effects, plus 100 AI credits monthly

Image packs offer 2, 5 or 25 downloads without a subscription. Unlimited offers have a fair-use policy.

Downloading a selected image

Open the image, select Download, choose a JPEG size and the applicable plan, then confirm Download. An Enhanced licence is a separate purchase from Standard downloads.

Individual licences cover one person. Original files cannot be shared with coworkers or clients under that seat; multi-person access needs Team or Premier terms.

Strengths

  • Image packs support occasional purchases without a subscription
  • JPEG downloads offer small, medium and large sizes

Watch out for

  • Unlimited plans cover selected collections rather than the full image library
  • Individual licences restrict access and use to one person

Best for

  • Designers licensing recurring campaign imagery
  • Agencies comparing individual and shared-seat access
