What it does

Site Kit is Google's WordPress plugin for connecting services such as Search Console, Analytics and PageSpeed Insights. It shows site and page-level measures within WordPress and can add other supported Google integrations.

Site Kit places Google service reports in WordPress. Search Console covers search performance; Analytics adds onsite visitor measures. The plugin is free, while connected products retain their own terms and any applicable charges.

Initial setup needs a WordPress administrator, a public production site and working WordPress REST access. Install and activate Site Kit, open Site Kit > Dashboard and sign in with the Google account that has the required service permissions. Complete ownership verification and allow metrics. Analytics can be connected during setup or later through Settings > Connect More Services. For a client site, use client-owned properties with the access needed by the agency.

Download a report for someone outside WordPress

Open the Site Kit dashboard and click Export PDF in its header. Select the topics and widgets, then Download report. Keep the browser tab open until the file finishes. The PDF excludes the current day, hidden features and unconnected services.

Dashboard sharing can also give selected WordPress roles a restricted view without their own Google connection. A person using that view can export only the service data shared with their role.

Strengths

  • Combines several Google service reports in WordPress.
  • Allows additional supported services to be connected after initial setup.

Watch out for

  • Initial setup requires a publicly accessible site and working WordPress REST access.
  • Connected reporting depends on the user's Google service permissions.

Best for

  • WordPress owners combining Google search, visitor and performance measures
