What it does
3D Slicer is an open-source desktop application for image visualization, processing, segmentation, registration and analysis.
Slicer’s saving choices separate a working scene from an exported result. Load the images and segmentation, inspect them together, then save the scene when the data and viewing or processing settings need to stay together. The MRB option writes a self-contained package with copies of the data, so it takes longer than saving only changed files. Export to File handles selected data separately and does not change the normal saving settings. For interchange, check the coordinate convention: Slicer uses RAS internally while many imaging files use LPS. Its guide also warns that unusual but valid encodings may not be interpreted correctly by a reader.
