What it does

Smaily provides email design, contact management, landing pages and automated follow-up. Its free newsletter account supports up to 2,000 unique active contacts with unlimited sends and users. Monthly subscriptions and prepaid credits add options for larger lists or automation, and signup needs no card.

An occasional sender and a weekly newsletter publisher may need different Smaily plans even with the same audience:

Option How it works
Free Up to 2,000 unique active contacts, unlimited sends, campaign reports and landing pages
Monthly subscription Charged by active contacts, with unlimited sends, automation, API integrations and advanced analytics
Prepaid credits One credit per email to each contact; credits expire after one year and emails retain a Smaily footer

For a credit purchase, multiply the audience by the number of planned mailings. The free plan excludes automation, API integrations and advanced analytics.

Paid automation can respond to a signup, purchase, abandoned cart or period of inactivity. A store sending cart reminders therefore needs the automation feature, even when its newsletter audience still fits the free contact limit.

Registration supports Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and Microsoft accounts. Monthly billing follows the calendar month, and ending a subscription requires one month's notice. If two people prepare your newsletter, the free plan allows both to work in the account; upgrading is about contact count and features rather than simply adding that second user.

Strengths

  • Monthly and credit billing support different sending frequencies
  • The free newsletter plan permits unlimited sends within its active-contact cap

Watch out for

  • Free accounts exclude automation, API integrations, and advanced analytics
  • Prepaid credits expire after one year

Best for

  • Newsletter senders comparing regular publishing with occasional campaigns
