What it does
smallcase offers baskets of stocks and ETFs built around a theme or strategy, alongside mutual-fund and other investment options. Stocks and ETFs stay in the linked broker account. Some baskets have a manager subscription, and transaction and broker charges can apply even to portfolios labelled free.
Inspect the basket before the order
Filter smallcases by theme, strategy or minimum amount. Review the holdings, weights and manager approach before selecting Buy and choosing a lump sum or a recurring investment. You can also create your own baskets to track different objectives separately.
Stock and ETF investing needs a supported broker, PAN and completed identity checks. The normal route is for Indian residents; non-resident Indians need a compatible NRI brokerage arrangement.
What the fees mean
For most connected brokers, Buy and Invest More orders carry a smallcase fee of ₹100 plus GST, capped at 1.5% of the order amount. Recurring orders use ₹10 plus GST with the same percentage cap. Broker, tax and depository charges are separate.
A free smallcase has no manager subscription, but its transaction fees still apply. Paid baskets add the manager’s own recurring fee. Check both the basket and connected-broker charges before comparing costs.
