What it does

SmartrMail combines email and SMS campaigns, subscriber forms and commerce automations. Segment-triggered flows can start on a customer's first entry or repeat when they leave and rejoin. Its free account supports up to 200 active subscribers, with a separate 15-day Pro trial that needs no card.

A repeatable SmartrMail flow requires the subscriber to leave and rejoin the trigger segment. Matching another qualifying purchase while staying inside that segment does not itself restart the flow. Use that distinction when defining a refill reminder or a series following a specific product purchase.

The alternative first-match setting runs only on the person's first entry. Subscribers who were suppressed inside a segment and later become subscribed do not enter through that status change alone. Leaving the trigger segment also exits the person from its automation. Define both the segment and the desired entry behaviour before saving; the trigger list cannot be changed afterward.

Monthly email allowances depend on the plan:

Plan Included sending
Free Three emails per subscriber, up to 200 active subscribers
Essential 12 emails per subscriber
Pro 24 emails per subscriber, plus 1,000 SMS credits

Paid plans use an active-subscriber base. The same email is counted once across lists; unsubscribed, bounced and inactive contacts are excluded from billing. This commercial counting rule is separate from the segment movement that triggers a flow.

Strengths

  • First-match and repeat-entry options support different commerce lifecycle sequences
  • Billing deduplicates the same active address across lists

Watch out for

  • Repeat entry requires leaving and rejoining the segment
  • The trigger list cannot be changed after the segment setup is saved

Best for

  • Commerce marketers defining repeat-purchase and refill sequences around customer segments
