What it does

SMTPeter is a hosted gateway for transactional email through SMTP or a REST API. Its dashboard combines delivery records, statistics, archived messages and stored templates. A licence costs EUR 55 per month for 25,000 emails, one sending IP and one sender domain, with registration required.

The base licence costs EUR 55 per month and includes 25,000 messages, one sending IP and one sender domain. Extra messages, domains or IPs add charges; the separate technical support contract costs EUR 89 per month. Count those requirements before estimating the cost of several brands sharing the service.

Register with your name, email, company and phone number, then create the licence from your account. Sending setup begins with a Sender Domain, the required DNS changes and its verification code. SMTPeter then accepts mail through SMTP credentials or a REST access token. Templates can be stored centrally and referenced by identifier, with recipient variables providing personalised content. That is a practical route for a website sending order updates from a common design.

Choose message modifications deliberately. SMTPeter can rewrite links for click tracking, change the envelope to collect bounce information, inline CSS and host embedded images externally. The dashboard or API exposes logs, statistics and archived messages for later investigation.

Strengths

  • Central templates can be reused with recipient-specific variables
  • The dashboard combines archived messages with logs and delivery statistics

Watch out for

  • Additional sending domains and IPs are charged beyond the base allowance
  • Technical support has a separately priced contract

Best for

  • Teams connecting website or application transactional messages to a hosted email gateway
