What it does

Social News Desk combines publishing, planning, listening and reporting for newsrooms and communications teams. Plans are licensed per user with annual billing. Starter limits connected accounts, while Pro adds unlimited accounts and a consolidated response inbox.

A Team Admin can stop scheduled and automated posts across the team through Account Settings > Advanced Settings > Details. Turn on Pause schedule/automated posts and confirm. Colleagues see a paused banner. Posts whose scheduled time passes stay in Scheduled Posts for editing and rescheduling; switching the control off resumes future posts and active Autopilot schedules.

For a weekly reminder, open the Recurring Post icon in the composer. Choose the start time, daily, weekly or monthly pattern, and an ending date or number of occurrences, then select Schedule Recurrence. Each occurrence appears individually in Scheduled Posts, Calendar and Planner. One can be moved or deleted without removing the rest of the series.

Publishing permissions, approvals and campaign tags help distribute preparation and release responsibilities across the desk. Those duties can be separate from answering comments and messages.

Package Team and account scope
Starter One licensed user and up to five social accounts; calendar and post analytics
Pro Unlimited social accounts, consolidated inbox, social listening and broader reporting
Customized Quoted scope for teams of ten or more users, with implementation and advanced administration

Published standard rates are per seat and billed annually. On Air Display is an additional premium solution for presenting social material in broadcasts. Include its display workflow separately when defining the newsroom's package.

Strengths

  • The pause control stops scheduled and automated posts across a team
  • Recurring series can be adjusted one occurrence at a time

Watch out for

  • Pro's unlimited social accounts do not remove per-user licensing
  • Posts missed during a pause need review and rescheduling

Best for

  • Newsrooms and communications desks coordinating scheduled output and sudden changes in priorities
