What it does
SpeedCrunch provides a scientific calculator with complex numbers, user-defined functions, units, vectors and matrices.
SpeedCrunch is a free, open-source desktop scientific calculator for Windows, Mac and Linux, with up to 50 digits of precision. Type an expression and press Enter; the history keeps both expression and result, and double-clicking recalls either. The ans variable reuses the last result, with optional automatic insertion when a new line starts with an operator. Question-mark comments stay in the history. Function arguments use semicolons, while decimal input follows the configured separator rules. User-defined variables, functions and units, vectors/matrices and separate sessions support repeated work. Finite numerical precision still requires choosing output settings appropriate to the calculation.
Strengths
- User-defined functions and units
- Vectors, matrices and multiple calculation sessions
Best for
- Repeated scientific calculations with shared definitions
