What it does

Splid records group expenses and calculates who owes whom. It suits trips and shared household costs on Android or iPhone, with free core use and optional paid purchases. A group can stay offline or synchronize between participants without account registration.

Use an offline group when one person is maintaining the trip record. Activate synchronization when participants need to add their own expenses together. Sharing the group's access code lets others join, view and change its entries.

Enter expenses in their original currencies and use the converted view to follow the balance. Splid supports more than 150 currencies with automatic conversion, so a trip with purchases in two currencies can still have one settlement calculation.

At the end, download a PDF summary to review with the group. Excel summaries require an in-app purchase on both Android and iPhone. The US iPhone storefront lists Splid Plus at US$3.99 and a 2 Groups purchase at US$2.99; the listing does not assign a separate price to Excel export.

Strengths

  • One expense can include several people who paid and unequal amounts owed by each participant.
  • Settlement calculations reduce the number of repayments needed to balance the group.

Watch out for

  • The iPhone version requires iOS 16 or later.

Best for

  • Trip organizers who need to settle purchases paid by different people in different currencies
