What it does
Splitser manages group expenses and income in shared lists. Members can add transactions, calculate balances and follow repayments. Expense tracking is free with an account; optional payments carry service fees, and receiving through linked bank accounts is limited to Dutch and Belgian accounts.
Separate lists keep an ongoing household account apart from a weekend trip. Every member can add or inspect entries, including expenses and income in multiple currencies. Splitser calculates the repayments and sends the settlement to participants; the repayment view tracks outstanding amounts and reminders.
Create the list in the currency you will settle
After signing up, open Lists, tap the blue plus, name the list and select its currency. Foreign-currency entries are converted into that currency. On Transactions, use the blue plus to add an expense and specify its payer and participants. Shares can be equal, weighted or entered as individual amounts.
Fees and closing a round of expenses
Tracking costs nothing. Optional in-app payments have a €0.35 service fee per transaction. Linking a Dutch or Belgian bank account through iDEAL | Wero or Bancontact also costs €0.35 once.
Balance → Offset all balances previews the settlement. Confirming archives the entries, resets balances and creates a PDF. This cannot be reversed, so check the entries before confirming. The list can then be reused for another round.
The terms restrict Splitser to personal, non-commercial use. Users must be at least 16 or have parental consent.
