What it does
Spreedly provides payment orchestration, vaulting, provider connectivity, authentication integrations and centralized reporting. Its Composer tool lets payment, fraud and finance teams arrange transaction flows visually. Access uses a business account and paid products, with monthly vault pricing and a tailored optimization package.
After the initial integration with Spreedly, use Composer's canvas to connect gateways, identity checks, fraud tools and routing rules in the sequence each transaction should follow. Publish the flow when it is ready. A fallback branch can send a declined or timed-out payment to the secondary gateway you choose using the stored payment credential.
To compare two routes, divide traffic by percentage and watch their authorization rates and costs side by side. Change the allocation as results develop, or return to the previous published version. This makes the reporting useful for a specific decision, such as whether a second gateway handles a particular stream of payments better.
The Independent Vault offer starts at $750 per month and includes unlimited storage. Performance Optimization is priced through sales and can combine routing, network tokenization, account updates, retries and authentication services. Ask which modules, connections and usage allowances belong to the proposed agreement.
When estimating usage, count the steps in the actual payment flow. Spreedly's billing guide explains that adding a card, authorizing it and capturing funds can require three calls, while a repeat purchase with an existing credential can use one. Confirm how the contract treats those requests rather than budgeting only from the number of completed orders.
Strengths
- Payment-token ownership and portability support moving credentials between provider connections.
- Workflow Manager permissions let staff edit flows without granting full administrator access.
Watch out for
- Workflows belong to a specific environment; businesses using several environments must configure them separately.
- Under API-based pricing, paid subscribers are charged for test calls as well as production calls.
Best for
- Payment teams comparing gateway performance and fraud-check sequences
- Businesses keeping payment credentials independent of a single processor
