What it does

SpyFu provides competitor research for SEO and paid search, including keyword overlaps, ranking history, backlinks and advertising examples. Its reports help organize investigation of competing search strategies.

SpyFu's search box accepts a domain, URL or keyword. Looking up a competitor brings together organic search terms, advertising history and backlinks. Keyword overlaps can help an SEO editor find topics covered by competing pages; ad examples give a paid-search marketer a separate view of how those businesses advertise.

You can make limited searches without starting a timed trial. SpyFu describes its free version as available indefinitely, with an email address unlocking more frequent searches. Full results and ongoing keyword tracking require a subscription.

Basic costs USD 39 per month, or USD 29 per month billed annually. It includes 10,000 result and export rows, one Live Site, 5,000 weekly tracked keywords and ten automated reports. Its 50,000 monthly crawl-page allowance still has a 500-page limit for each crawl. Pro + AI and Team/Agency increase these allowances and add more automation.

For a large technical audit, that per-crawl cap is an important Basic limitation. For a focused competitor review, the free search can show whether SpyFu has useful information before you subscribe.
