What it does
SSL Shopper's SSL Checker connects to a public hostname to inspect its certificate, intermediate chain, expiry and hostname match.
Enter the server’s public hostname to inspect the certificate and intermediate chain it delivers. SSL Shopper’s checker covers installation, expiry, hostname match and issues such as old hash functions, with an optional expiration reminder. Repeated checks may use results cached for up to a day, which matters after replacing a certificate or chain. The hosted form does not support internal hostnames; the page offers a local OpenSSL route for those. It links SSL Labs for deeper protocol, cipher and revocation analysis. A certificate-installation result is narrower than a full assessment of the application or every client’s trust store.
Strengths
- Checks intermediate certificate delivery
- Explains result caching
Watch out for
