What it does

Staking Rewards publishes staking-provider and DeFi-protocol data, ratings and methodology references. Its public comparisons help researchers examine providers, while paid APIs supply staking metrics and ratings for applications and internal reports.

Staking Rewards separates infrastructure-provider ratings from DeFi-protocol ratings, with a framework for each. The shared AAA-to-D scale summarizes the platform's assessment of controls and possible losses. An infrastructure operator and a smart-contract protocol have different failure paths, so compare each against the relevant methodology. A published rating is an analytical output, not a guarantee.

The public Providers page offers categories such as Native Staking, Staking Pool and Lending. Compare assets under management, staker counts and supported assets, then inspect the rating breakdown for business operations, reliability and security setup. A large provider is not automatically the highest-rated one. These views are readable without an account.

API prices and usage

The advertised standard prices are monthly equivalents with annual billing commitments.

API plan Monthly equivalent Monthly credits
Standard €166 1.5 million
Advanced €333 10 million
Professional €666 50 million
Enterprise Quote Agreed allowance

API access needs a key. Staking data uses GraphQL and returns JSON; ratings also have a REST interface. Select the assets and fields required for your report instead of requesting every available metric.

A credit is not the same as a request. Metrics fields cost three credits per data point, other fields generally cost one, and historical queries add a 5,000-credit surcharge. The documented limit is sixty requests per minute per key. Check the X-Used-Credits response header to see actual consumption, since nested fields and returned rows affect the total. Requests are blocked when the monthly allowance is exhausted.

The quick-start guide also advertises a free API tier for eligible small projects, but its current allowance is not specified there. Confirm that allocation before planning a recurring collection job.

Strengths

  • Provider comparisons expose component scores alongside the overall rating
  • API responses report the credits used by each request

Watch out for

  • Standard API subscriptions require annual billing
  • Historical API queries add a surcharge and monthly quota exhaustion blocks requests

Best for

  • Researchers comparing staking providers beyond headline yield
  • Developers budgeting for recurring staking-data and rating queries
