What it does

Stakpak is an open source agent that runs on your own machines. It watches your apps, fixes incidents, renews certificates, and reports activity. It installs as a system service and persists across reboots. The product is built around three commands: stakpak for an interactive terminal, stakpak up for autonomous background operation, and stakpak autopilot status to monitor schedules and recent activity. It is written in Rust under Apache 2.0 and runs with mTLS encryption.

Install with the shell script from the site, then run stakpak init to discover your stack and generate APPS.md, followed by stakpak up to start autopilot. Features listed include auto-healing, a cost watchdog, and certificate renewal. Security features include a network sandbox with Cedar policies, secret substitution for over 210 secret types, and full session audit logs. Source code and releases are on GitHub. The site notes Stakpak is joining Vercel.
