What it does
StarMoney brings supported bank accounts, cards and financial services into a banking application. Transfers, standing orders and categorised transactions sit alongside a calendar of expected money in and out. The software family has separate Windows, Mac and mobile editions.
The payment calendar gives your transaction history a view of expected receipts and bills. Categorisation and income-versus-expense reports explain the activity behind it. StarMoney also retains transaction records across multiple years and allows offline review, making older recurring payments available beyond a bank’s current online history.
Before connecting an account, use the bank search on the website with its name, bank code or BIC. Available accounts and transaction functions depend on that connection. Account information is stored locally in encrypted form.
Free mobile access and paid editions
| Option | Monthly price | Platform or allowance | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile Basis | €0 | iOS and Android | 5 accounts, six months of history and transfers |
| Windows Basic | €2.79 | 1 Windows installation | Account overview, transfers and standing orders |
| Windows Deluxe | €3.79 | 3 Windows installations | Adds budgets, broader reports and document organisation |
| Flat | €5.49 | 5 devices | Combines Windows, Mac and mobile products |
The paid prices shown use monthly billing. Mobile Basis includes advertising and does not provide device synchronisation. The paid Windows editions and Flat support unlimited linked accounts. Windows Basic has one user database, while Deluxe allows multiple databases. A Deluxe budget can track a spending category such as food deliveries and count matching transactions against the amount you set.
The download centre identifies Basic 15 and Deluxe 15 as the current Windows versions. To activate a purchased copy, enter the licence key from the purchase email. The separate StarMoney customer area provides licence and device management through a StarMoney ID. Feature sets vary by edition, so the Windows comparison is useful when deciding whether budgeting and document tools are needed.
