What it does
Statcounter combines a live visitor feed, navigation paths and aggregate website reports. It also offers session replay and heatmaps, with free Basic access and paid options for expanded monitoring.
Statcounter helps website owners move from an overall traffic trend to the visits behind it. Alongside summary charts, it shows recent activity and the sequence of pages a visitor opened.
Create an account, add a project and install its tracking code. Once visits are collected, open Recent Activity > Visitor Paths in the project. The path view shows page URLs and times, with the latest activity first, so you can inspect where a visit began, where it ended and how the visitor moved between pages.
| Plan | Displayed monthly option | Included sessions and detailed history |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | 5,000 sessions per month; 14 days |
| Premium | From EUR 9 per month | 20,000 sessions per month; three years |
| Premium Plus | From EUR 19 per month | 20,000 sessions per month; five years |
Summary charts have lifetime retention. Premium adds tools such as conversion analysis, visitor labels, CSV exports and API access; Premium Plus adds heatmaps and advertising-related investigation. Session replay is a separately priced capacity add-on, so the base plan figures do not include a replay allowance.
New accounts receive a 30-day trial without a credit card and can switch to Basic. The permanent free option is useful for a small site's traffic overview, but its short detailed-history window limits how far back you can investigate individual visits.

- Core reporting has a permanent free Basic option.
Watch out for
- Traffic, retained activity and replay capacity depend on the selected plan.
Best for
