What it does
StockCharts offers browser-based technical charts, stock scans, alerts and saved ChartLists. Free charts have limited indicators, while paid accounts add saved research tools and larger allowances. Real-time exchange data is priced separately from the charting subscription.
Save a chart configuration as a template, then organize symbols in a ChartList. This keeps indicator settings consistent when moving between companies. Custom scans and alerts provide another way to revisit the same research criteria.
Account capacity and data
| Tier | Monthly membership | Chart and scan limits |
|---|---|---|
| Free | US$0 | Three indicators and three overlays per chart |
| Basic | US$19.95 | One ChartList and one scan |
| Extra | US$29.95 | 250 ChartLists and 200 scans; scheduled scans available |
| Pro | US$49.95 | 500 ChartLists and 500 scans |
A free one-month trial is available for membership.
The standard data plan uses BATS real-time US data and delayed data elsewhere. Official US, Canadian and UK exchange-data upgrades each cost US$9.95 a month and bill separately. That distinction matters when comparing a chart with a broker quote. Membership and data-plan renewal settings can be managed under Your Account.
