What it does

Stocksy is an artist-owned stock-media cooperative with photography, video and illustrations. Visual-reference search, colour search and curated collections help find assets, while Standard, Team and Enhanced licences cover different sharing and distribution needs.

Drop a reference image onto the site to find related visuals, or enter a hex code in Search by Color. A gallery can hold a project’s candidates; its invite control lets colleagues collaborate.

Images cost $35 for Medium, $85 for Large and $135 for X-Large in USD. Video pricing ranges from $75 for 720p to $400 for ungraded 4K. LOG versions suit editors handling their own colour grade, and footage does not include audio.

Standard allows up to 500,000 printed copies. Team adds organisation-wide and shared-database use for $100 per asset; Enhanced adds unlimited printing, templates and resale uses for $300 per asset. After purchase, download from the confirmation page or Purchase History. The Upgrade button there lets you pay the difference for a larger file or broader licence.

Strengths

  • Reference-image and hex-colour search support a defined visual brief
  • Purchased files and licences can be upgraded by paying the difference

Watch out for

  • Organisation-wide sharing needs a Team or higher licence
  • Video clips do not include audio

Best for

  • Campaign teams licensing photography and footage with defined team needs
