What it does
Streamline provides original icon families, an asset browser and design-tool integrations. Its catalog groups artwork by family, style and theme.
Choose a Streamline family before collecting individual symbols. Core, Flex, Sharp and Plump have different construction and visual weight. The browser and design-tool integrations help keep a related selection together.
Free user accounts can access vector artwork from Free Sets; free previews of Premium icons are limited to PNGs up to 48 pixels. The ordinary Free License requires credit and limits a project to 50 icons. Some explicitly labelled open-source sets have their own additional terms.
Paid access includes Icons and Full Access subscriptions; individual sets can also be purchased separately. The standard Premium licence allows 100 unique icons per project and 1,000 asset downloads a week. Paid project use generally needs no attribution, but open-source projects do. Larger allowances and template resale need the appropriate extended licence. Continued use after cancellation applies to assets already used in projects, rather than every unused download.
Strengths
- Named families support a coherent visual vocabulary.
- The browser separates families, styles and themes.
Watch out for
- Standard free and premium licenses limit unique assets per project.
- Premium-set free previews can be low-resolution PNGs rather than vectors.
Best for
- Interfaces needing many matching concepts
- Teams selecting an icon family before production
