What it does

Subscan combines supported Substrate and Ethereum-compatible explorers with tagged watchlists and transfer alerts. Developers can choose direct paid API plans or eligible free data routes through the separate PubFi service.

A Subscan watchlist is useful for a treasury address or another account you revisit regularly. Sign in to Subscan, open the relevant Account Detail page and select its star. Add a private tag and configure the notification setting, then use Watchlist Management to edit or remove monitored accounts in batches.

Saving an address is only half of notification setup. Connect to Telegram on the watchlist page, or use Profile > Telegram to bind the bot. The watchlist guide covers transfer alerts; do not assume it monitors every kind of account action. An alert is a prompt to inspect the underlying record.

For a report, Download page data exports the visible page as a spreadsheet. Bulk Download instead provides a configurable Python script. These options have different scopes, so choose the latter when a single page would omit records, and configure an appropriate API key before using the script.

The current API access split

Subscan no longer creates new free keys on its direct API platform. New free integrations use a PubFi account and key, and only routes explicitly offered with a free variant qualify. Their current limits come from PubFi. This route is separate from a Subscan PRO subscription.

Direct paid plans remain available through the Subscan API Platform. After purchase or upgrade, create a direct key under API Service and use the selected network’s host. PubFi and direct Subscan credentials are not interchangeable.

Check the network status too: live networks continue indexing, test networks may reset, and archive entries retain historical data after indexing has stopped. An archived endpoint can answer a history question while being unsuitable for current monitoring.

Strengths

  • Private tags make a watchlist easier to recognize without relabeling public accounts
  • Token-transfer views can filter by contract and address
  • Spreadsheet and script-based exports serve different report sizes

Watch out for

  • Telegram binding is required before watchlist alerts become active
  • An archived network no longer adds newly indexed activity

Best for

  • People tracking recurring transfers across supported Substrate accounts
  • Developers choosing between direct Subscan data and eligible PubFi routes
