What it does
SumUp offers card acceptance, payment devices, invoices and related small-business sales tools. Its UK Invoices service has a lasting free plan and a paid Plus option, while card collection carries transaction fees. Register an account to create and manage sales documents; prices and availability vary by country.
For UK invoicing, sign up with an email address and add the business details that should appear on customer documents. SumUp fills the logo and business information, assigns invoice numbers, and calculates totals and VAT. Send the bill directly to the customer and follow whether it has been viewed, paid or become overdue. Recurring invoices and automatic overdue reminders reduce repeated administration.
The two invoice plans serve different document needs:
| UK invoice plan | Software price | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Free | £0 monthly | Unlimited invoices and quotes with the standard template |
| Invoices Plus | £7 per month equivalent, billed annually, excluding VAT | Layout customization and 14 invoice languages |
Plus offers a 30-day trial. Online invoice payments carry a 2.5% transaction fee. Cash, cheque or other externally received payments can be marked against the invoice.
Card collection at the counter has a separate plan choice. Pay-as-you-go charges 1.69% for ordinary in-person card payments, without a monthly charge. Payments Plus costs £19 monthly or £189 annually and reduces domestic consumer-card collection to 0.99%. International, corporate and premium cards, including American Express, remain at 1.69%; online payments remain at 2.5%. The subscription renews on the chosen billing cycle and can be cancelled in dashboard settings.
The UK pricing above should be checked against the local SumUp offer when the business operates elsewhere.
