What it does

SVG Gobbler is a free desktop browser extension for finding and managing SVG artwork on web pages. It combines collection, markup editing, optimization and image or React-component export. It works in Chromium browsers and Firefox without a product account.

SVG Gobbler gathers a page's SVGs into a collection for inspection and reuse. Open the desktop extension on a page, review the discovered markup, and choose the files to export. SVGO optimization and markup editing can prepare the result; SVGR conversion produces a React component when that suits the handoff.

Exports include SVG, PNG, WebP, JPEG and data URIs, with ZIP downloads for a group of assets. The extension works in desktop Chromium browsers and Firefox, requires no account and is free to use. Mobile browsers are unsupported. Font-rendered icons are not detected, and dynamic, cross-origin or embedded content can restrict discovery. Finding an asset does not grant permission to reuse it.

Strengths

  • Several selected assets can be exported together as a ZIP.
  • SVGO optimization and SVGR conversion are built into the workflow.
  • Image exports cover SVG, PNG, WebP and JPEG.

Watch out for

  • Mobile browsers and font-rendered icons are unsupported.
  • Some dynamic, cross-origin or embedded content cannot be collected.

Best for

  • Web teams auditing SVG assets they are allowed to reuse
  • Design-to-development handoffs needing image or React output
