What it does
Syncthing continuously synchronizes files between computers, with device identities and shared folders configured by their owners.
A working folder can stay current across a desktop, laptop and server without using a hosted storage account as its central file store. Syncthing uses device IDs and lets you choose the folders each device shares; the browser interface configures the installed program. When two devices change the same file, it can retain one version under a sync-conflict filename, which then synchronizes as an ordinary file. Keep filenames consistent across operating systems: names differing only by letter case can produce an error on a case-insensitive destination. The project says file data stays on participating computers.
