What it does

iFinance records personal income and expenses, builds category reports and follows budget targets on Mac, iPhone and iPad. One app purchase covers these devices. Manual entry and statement imports are available, while connected bank downloads are an optional extra in supported countries.

Record a cash purchase on the phone and merge it with the Mac's records through Wi-Fi synchronization. The same route supports several users editing a shared database. Database settings are opened with the gear button beside its name; choose Wi-Fi or iCloud there. Synium requires a password on databases synchronized through iCloud.

Imported transactions can use predefined or custom categorization tags. Reports then show spending by category, while budgets track the amount left for the day or month.

The app is currently advertised at a promotional US$19.99, reduced from US$39.99, for Mac and iOS together. The Mac demo lasts 24 hours and supports one database.

Optional connected accounts

Bank downloads cover the United States, Canada, Germany and other supported European countries. To start, use the plus icon above the account column, search for your bank and follow the connection steps. Paid partner connections require a Synium ID, with Sign in with Apple available.

Bank-download option US monthly / annual Canadian monthly / annual Limit
Online Services US$5.99 / US$49.99 C$6.99 / C$59.99 Four banks or providers
Online Services Plus US$6.99 / US$69.99 C$9.99 / C$89.99 Unlimited banks

New subscribers get a seven-day trial, with no charge if cancelled during it. The bank subscription is additional to the app purchase.
