What it does
Synthesia helps pianists practise with MIDI files, optional notation and feedback on playing.
Practise one hand while Synthesia plays the other, or use melody mode to wait for the correct note. Falling notes can sit alongside conventional notation. Import a MIDI or MusicXML arrangement and connect a keyboard through USB or MIDI for playing feedback.
Native clients are listed for Windows, Mac, iPad, Android tablets and compatible Chromebooks. Check imported notation carefully: the documented 10.8 MusicXML importer does not use all the format’s extra notation information when drawing the score.
