What it does
Synthetix provides perpetual trading on Ethereum Mainnet. Positions within a subaccount share collateral, while separate subaccounts isolate their balances. USDT and WETH are supported collateral, with trading fees, funding and realized results settled in USDT.
Start with Connect Wallet, then Create Account to deposit collateral into a trading subaccount. Approve the wallet transactions and use Authenticate to complete setup. The FAQ explicitly says no separate signup or identity verification is required. Keep ETH available for Ethereum network charges.
Choose a contract from Market Selector and configure the Order Entry panel. Direction, position size and leverage determine the exposure; the confirmation window lets you review it before submission. Filled trades appear in Positions. A limit order can wait for your specified price, while Reduce Only prevents an exit order from increasing or reversing the position.
Default charges are 0.02% for a maker fill and 0.05% for a taker fill, calculated on the traded value. An immediately matched limit order pays the taker rate. Rolling 14-day volume affects discounts. Withdrawals have a displayed asset-specific charge as well as wallet gas costs.
Cross-margin connects all positions within the chosen subaccount. A profitable position can support another, but the same shared balance also bears losses. Other subaccounts remain separate. WETH contributes a discounted collateral value; it does not change the USDT settlement currency. Fees and funding can leave a negative USDT balance even while the account holds WETH.
Strengths
- Reduce-only and time-in-force order controls
- Subaccounts separate collateral and positions
- Fee tiers distinguish maker fills from immediately executed orders
Watch out for
- All positions within one subaccount share its collateral
- Holding WETH does not remove USDT settlement obligations
- Deposits and withdrawals require Ethereum gas
Best for
- Experienced Ethereum traders managing perpetual positions in separate subaccounts
