What it does
Tahatū Career Navigator is a New Zealand career-planning resource with career ideas, qualification and course discovery, an interest quiz and job-search guidance. It also provides advice on CVs, cover letters and interviews.
A school student can begin with NCEA subject guidance, while someone already looking for work can go straight to the Job Hunters’ Workbook or application checklist. The site makes those different starting points visible rather than assuming every reader needs another qualification.
Its interest quiz and career ideas can help you create a shortlist. Then use the study and training sections to investigate the routes into the work. For applications, Tahatū includes guidance on ordinary, video and online-profile formats, plus advice on checking and personalising AI-generated material. The resource is designed for New Zealanders, so its school qualifications and training context are particularly relevant there. Existing Careers.govt.nz visitors are redirected to this service.
