What it does
Takealot is a South African online retailer offering local and international brands across consumer categories. It provides a pickup-point option and a separate TakealotNOW shopping route.
Takealot's collection route is useful when an order needs to fit around a pickup location. The documented sequence is to shop online, choose Collect at checkout and select a pickup point. TakealotNOW serves a different task, with a selected range including electronics and household goods through a Takealot account or the Mr D app. Its stated cities are Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban. Start by choosing ordinary catalogue shopping, collection or the local rapid-shopping route, since they have different scope.
Strengths
- Pickup points offer an alternative route to a delivery address

- TakealotNOW is limited to the named South African cities
