What it does

Tamara lets eligible customers divide purchases at participating merchants into scheduled payments in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Registration and approval are required, and the available duration depends on the order and customer. The cost ranges from a fee-free three-payment option in Saudi Arabia to paid longer-term financing and an optional UAE membership.

Register through the app or website, verify the phone number and provide the requested personal details. The Saudi terms require customers to be over 18 and use a repayment method in their own name. Tamara can request identity and financial information and assess credit eligibility.

Choose the offered schedule at checkout and compare its total, installment amounts and dates before agreeing. The Saudi financing page publishes a ceiling of SAR 50,000, but the amount available depends on the merchant and individual assessment. Its calculator is an estimate, not an approved offer.

Option Region and cost
Pay in 3 Saudi Arabia: three equal monthly payments, with no fees or interest
Longer financing Saudi Arabia: 4, 6, 9, 12 or 24 months; the approved offer specifies the charges and annual percentage rate
Tamara Smart UAE: AED 19 per month after a free first month

For an existing order, payments can be completed through the app or website. The Saudi terms allow automatic collection on the due date; if there are insufficient funds, Tamara says it retries every two days until payment succeeds. Keep the particular order’s total and dates together because another order may have a different schedule.

Strengths

  • Push notifications and SMS messages remind customers about approaching payment dates.
  • UAE Smart combines qualifying purchases into one statement issued on the 25th and due on the 1st.

Watch out for

  • Tamara says repeated payment delays can restrict the account and affect the customer’s credit record.
  • The Saudi terms require a working repayment card to remain on file; an existing card cannot be removed until a replacement is added.

Best for

  • Customers keeping track of several approved installment orders
  • Saudi shoppers comparing the actual costs and dates offered at checkout
