What it does
Tandem connects language-exchange partners with messaging, calls, correction and translation tools.
Search for a partner by language and shared interests, then pick a conversation format you can sustain. Tandem supports text, voice notes and calls, which lets you move from a considered written reply to real-time speech. Correction tools can make an exchange more useful when you and your partner agree to point out a few recurring mistakes.
Membership is for people aged 16 or older and applications are reviewed, sometimes with a waiting list. Core features are free; Pro lists direct audio/video calls, unlimited translations and saved expressions among its additions. Check the current tier before planning a call-based routine.
