What it does
Tap Payments provides online payment acceptance and developer integrations for supported markets in the Middle East and North Africa. It combines cards and wallets with regional methods such as mada and KNET. Businesses register, submit verification documents and sign a contract before the account is activated for payments.
Tap's regional payment methods are a useful starting point for a checkout aimed at Gulf customers. Its web and mobile software development kits let developers customize card and Apple Pay flows, while the API handles payment requests.
The setup guide starts in Tap Dashboard: open Accounts, choose the ID in Operators, then open Merchant to find the account's API keys. Test and live keys are separate. Public keys can be used in the customer-facing integration; secret keys belong on the server. The guide documents web, Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native integration paths.
For activation, complete registration, submit the required documents and sign the contract in Arabic or English. The business checklist includes commercial registration or a licence, ownership information, identity documents for the signatory and relevant owners, and proof of the receiving bank account. The English account name on the bank statement or certificate must match the business's legal name.
Tap directs prospective merchants to its support team for price plans. Transaction fees appear in the payout breakdown. From a payout notification, choose View Transactions to inspect the credit and fee totals by payment method, drill into individual transactions and export an Excel file.
Payout timing is regional. The UAE help page describes a five-business-day settlement period followed by a weekly Tuesday payout, with different minimum balances for corporate and individual accounts. Lower-frequency schedules can be requested. Tap's country notice also states that it is not accepting new merchants from Egypt, Jordan or Lebanon, so its broader regional coverage should not be read as universal signup availability.
