What it does

TaxDome combines accounting-practice workflows, client communication and documents with capacity planning, time tracking and billing. Firms can organize jobs in pipelines and require invoice payment before clients download selected documents. US plans are paid per firm user on a subscription term, with a separate client portal and mobile access.

TaxDome organizes the firm's jobs and client information in a shared practice workspace. Automated pipelines distribute work, while task views, time estimates and capacity tools show who is handling it and where progress stands. Clients can supply documents and communicate through the portal or mobile app.

Release a document after payment

During a web upload, choose client visibility and use Link invoice to attach the bill before uploading. For an existing document, open its three-dot menu, select Edit Info, link the invoice and save. The client can see that a document is available, but access to the locked document depends on payment.

The invoice must be paid in full. A bank-debit payment can require time to clear before access is released. If payment was received elsewhere, the firm can release the document manually. This provides a practical handoff between finishing the work and collecting the agreed fee.

US subscriptions

For a one-year term paid upfront, Essentials costs US$800 per user per year, Pro US$1,000, and Business US$1,200. Longer terms have different discounts. Essentials is for a single-user firm; adding a second user moves the firm to Pro with a prorated adjustment.

Pro adds team roles and 30 days of activity history; Business extends that history to 365 days. General-ledger connections are limited to 120 on Pro and unlimited on Business. Additional seasonal staff can use temporary licences: Pro lists US$100 per month, while Business lists US$500 for four months. The firm owner still needs a full-term subscription.

Use Settings > Team & plans to manage staff access and subscriptions. The owner's subscription must remain active for the client portal, and subscriptions cannot simply be paused between tax seasons. Start through the current sales or demonstration route and confirm the term appropriate to the firm.

Strengths

  • Document delivery can depend on full payment of a linked invoice
  • Client documents, messages and firm jobs share the practice workspace
  • Temporary licences can add seasonal staff to a paid firm account

Watch out for

  • Essentials supports only one firm user
  • The owner needs a full-term subscription even when staff are seasonal
  • An unpaid or uncleared linked invoice can keep a document locked

Best for

  • Tax and accounting firms connecting document delivery with payment
  • Practices coordinating permanent and seasonal staff
