What it does

Tencent Cloud Lighthouse is a simplified virtual private server for small and medium workloads. Each instance bundles compute, storage, and a network transfer plan, with operating-system images and preconfigured application images such as WordPress, Docker, and Node.js. A browser control panel manages the server and its attached cloud features. Lighthouse is intended for personal projects, small websites, application experiments, and development or test environments rather than the more configurable Cloud Virtual Machine product.

Choose an image and bundle before connecting

Lighthouse's documented approach starts by selecting a region and an instance package, then choosing a system image or a prepared application image. The product page shows a WordPress path that creates an instance from its image before domain or SSL setup; an aaPanel image provides a visual server-management interface, while Node.js and Docker images suit development environments. After the instance is running, you can use the bundled console and server access tools to install or configure the rest of the application.

The product combines CPU, memory, SSD storage, and a data-transfer plan in one prepaid package. That is convenient for a compact website that benefits from ready-made images, but it is less flexible than assembling individual cloud resources. Lighthouse bundles cannot be downgraded after purchase. Monthly outbound transfer is capped by the selected plan, except for the Razor Speed package; excess transfer is billed separately.

Tencent distinguishes Lighthouse from its Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) service: Lighthouse simplifies resource selection and bundles services for lighter workloads, while CVM is the general-purpose VM product. It is also separate from Tencent Cloud Serverless Cloud Function (SCF). The console includes firewall and snapshot management, but no account, server, or application was created for this listing.

Strengths

  • Combines compute, storage, and a data-transfer allowance in a single instance package.
  • Offers ready-to-use system and application images for common small-server tasks.
  • Provides a unified control panel for instance operations, firewall rules, and snapshots.

Watch out for

  • The base bundle is prepaid by month or year, and its resources cannot be downgraded after purchase.
  • Most packages include a monthly outbound-transfer quota; excess traffic is metered separately.

Best for

  • Hosting a small website, blog, or lightweight application from a prepared image.
  • Creating a low-cost development or test VPS with a familiar Linux or Windows image.
  • Running an individual or small-team server where bundled resources matter more than detailed VM configuration.
