What it does
text.compare is a free, open-source comparison tool with side-by-side, unified and data views, moved-block detection and editable inputs.
Paste the original on the left and the changed text on the right, or drop two files, then step through differences with F7. Document mode suits prose; Data compares JSON or CSV structure so reordered keys or rows do not count as changes. Moved-block marks help follow a rearranged paragraph. Choose ignore rules carefully, then merge with the arrows or download an HTML report, PDF printout, patch or either text file. The site says comparison runs in the browser. Optional sign-in uploads encrypted saved copies, and a share link contains the compared text, so sharing that link also shares its contents.
