What it does
Thermo Scientific’s web-tool collection includes primer analysis, reaction setup, optical-density conversion and DNA copy-number calculations.
Thermo Scientific separates general molecular-quantity calculators from setup tools for named Phusion polymerases and DyNAmo kits. Its DNA copy-number and dilution guide starts with the DNA's molar mass per bp, an organism selection or a custom fragment length, and the measured stock concentration. Supply the desired copies/µL and final volume to obtain dilution/pipetting volumes. The average base-pair weight can be changed when the DNA requires a different value. Keep those length, molecular-weight and concentration assumptions with the result. Product-specific reaction setups should be used within the named reagent scope; the collection also provides primer, OD-conversion and qPCR-efficiency tools.
Strengths
- Primer and molecular-quantity calculators
- Product-specific reaction-setup tools
Watch out for
- Some setup calculators are tied to specified reagents or kits
Best for
