What it does
Thexyz offers private email hosting on a custom domain with aliases, calendars, contacts and mobile synchronization. It states that it does not scan messages for advertising profiles.
Thexyz combines domain mail, calendars, contacts and mobile synchronization with a managed migration route. The provider says its subscriber-funded mailboxes are not scanned to build advertising profiles.
Its signing/encryption offer uses S/MIME certificates and can also be used with an existing mailbox through a compatible desktop or mobile client. The page says both sender and recipient need S/MIME capability: encryption uses the recipient’s public key and reading requires the corresponding private key. Reusing a certificate on several devices requires its private key to be exportable. The certificate pickup password is required for download; if forgotten, the page says the certificate must be cancelled and reordered.
