What it does
Software Design by Example teaches design and computer-science ideas by implementing small versions of programming tools.
Choose a familiar tool, such as a test runner or template expander, and follow its small implementation. Understanding the tool's job gives the design choices context. The Python examples help connect abstract structure with code you can inspect and modify. The lessons assume you can already write small programs and want to design larger ones. The text uses CC BY-NC 4.0; the software uses the Hippocratic License, so its terms differ from the book text.
