What it does
ThriftBooks sells used and new books with named condition ratings. Its search accepts titles, authors and ISBNs, and ReadingRewards is its free loyalty programme.
For a reading copy, start with the title or ISBN and compare the condition grade before the price. ThriftBooks describes ratings from Like New to Acceptable, giving shoppers a vocabulary for choosing how much wear they are comfortable with.
Its stock comes through routes including libraries, donations, buyback and resale partnerships. That makes the specific edition and description worth reading, especially if appearance matters for a gift. ReadingRewards adds points and book rewards for participating customers, but the main comparison should remain the copy you want. A low-priced edition is only useful if it is the right one.
For delivery outside the US, confirm eligibility and postage in the cart before comparing totals. ThriftBooks excludes some destinations and selected new books from international shipping; it also excludes international items priced at $99 or more. Processing time is separate from the carrier's transit estimate.
